Englebert Humperdinck's fairytale masterpiece Hansel & Gretel is a tale that involves young siblings Hansel and Gretel who are abandoned in the forest by their parents. The children discover a house made of bread and cake, but they become captives of its inhabitant, a wicked witch that intends to eat them.
As the 1nd ASM on this production I was in charge of prop and scenic paperwork and running stage right after starting performances. As of March 2026, this is the biggest show I've ever worked on. My biggest wins were being on a team with one of my best friends and fully choreographing a transition rehearsal. Our communication styles are very similar and made for an easy transition into the language of the show. The transitions went off without a hitch and I was actually told "That transition needs to go slower" by my director. On the other hand, my biggest challenge was the scale of the show. The show was performed at Kingsbury Hall which is one of the largest stages in the Salt Lake valley and they show took up the whole stage.
